Application Period (Mail-in Period) Over 41% ,(2.4 million) of the applications submitted for DV-99; over 32% , (Over 2.5 million) of the applications submitted for DV-2000; and over 2 million of the applications submitted for DV-2001 were rejected because they were received outside the official "Mail in Period" Applications for the Diversity Visa Lottery may only be filed during a time period (normally 30 days) called the "Application Period" or "Mail in Period" and at the place which is announced by the United States State Department.
