NEW RULES FOR DIVERSITY VISA LOTTERY
FOLLOW THESE NEW RULES OR BE DISQUALIFIED
I. NEW SIGNATURE REQUIREMENT:
The lottery application must be PERSONALLY SIGNED by the applicant with his/her usual and customary signature in his/her native alphabet, as it appears on his/her passport or other official or contractual obligations or the lottery application entry will be disqualified. Lottery entries that contain a signature that is made up of an initialed signature or block printing of the applicant’s name will be disqualified. If an applicant chooses to sign his/her name in the Roman alphabet and that is not their native alphabet, he/she must also sign in his/her native alphabet.
II. NEW PHOTOGRAPH REQUIREMENTS;
All lottery applications MUST contain a recent photograph of the APPLICANT, his/her SPOUSE (husband/wife) and ALL UNMARRIED CHILDREN UNDER 21 YEARS OF AGE, including all natural children as well as all legally-adopted and stepchildren, even if the children no longer reside with the applicant. The name and date of birth of each family member must be printed on the back of their photo. Group or family photos will not be accepted; there must be a separate photo for each family member. Photos should be attached with tape and not stapled to the entry.
ANY APPLICATIONS WHICH DO NOT CONTAIN ALL THE REQUIRED PHOTOGRAPHS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED
III. NEW SPECIFICATIONS For PHOTOGRAPHS:
All phtographs must conform to the following specifications or the entry will be disqualifies:
- SEPARATE PHOTOGRAPH FOR EACH FAMILY MEMBER ON THE APPLICATION.
- PHOTOGRAPH SIZE: All photos must be between 1.5 and 2 inches (between 37mm and 50mm) square.
- NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH: Every photograph must have the person's (applicant’s, spouse's, or child's) name and date of birth printed on the back of each photo.
- PERSON'S POSITION IN PHOTOGRAPH: Applicant, spouse, or child must be directly facing the camera; the head of the person being photographed should not be tilted up, down or to the side, and should cover about 50% of the area of the photo.
- BACKGROUND OF THE PHOTOGRAPH: The photo should be taken with the person being photographed in front of a neutral, light-colored background. Photos taken with very dark or patterned, busy backgrounds will not be accepted.
- PHOTOGRAPH MUST BE IN FOCUS: Photos in which the face of the person being photographed is not in focus will not be accepted.
- NO HATS/SUNGLASSES OR RELIGIOUS COVERING OF THE FACE: Photos in which the person being photographed is wearing a hat or glasses with dark lens or in which the face is obscured in any way will not be accepted.
- COLOR OF PHOTOGRAPH: Photos may be either color or black and white.

examples the actual size of the photo can be-37mm x 37 mm up to 50mm by 50mm.
