In February 2017, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released its 2015 data regarding “older” drivers. The NHTSA defined “older” as individuals who had reached the age of 65 years or older. This represented an eight percent increase from the previous year. Older drivers made up 18 percent of the drivers in 2015, an increase of 15 percent from 2014.
