Head-On Collision in Selma Kills One Person

According to a news report by ABC30 News, a person died in a head-on collision in Selma last week. The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. near Bethel and Manning. The California Highway Patrol states that a man crossed a 20-foot divider between the lanes and collided with a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The driver was killed in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. It was unknown why the driver crossed into the opposite lane at the time of the report.

Man Rescued from Vehicle in Fresno County

ABC30 News reported last week that a driver had to be rescued from his vehicle in Fresno County. Apparently, the driver lost control of his vehicle and plunged into a canal early Thursday morning between Westlawn Avenue and Belmont Avenue. The fire department and the Fresno County Sheriff’s office responded to the accident scene. The vehicle landed in approximately two feet of water. Emergency responders were able to get the door open to rescue the driver. The driver was talking when he was pulled from the vehicle by rescuers, but the extent of the driver’s injuries was not known. The accident is under investigation to determine why the driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the canal.
