As the officers sat along the side of California State Highway 99 near Betty Drive to check out the vehicle, they were rear-ended. The two officers were injured in the accident. The driver of the second vehicle, Tristan Zurita, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence. At this time, the crash remains under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
