Fresno, CA – Woman Loses Baby in crash on Belmont Ave
Fresno, CA (August 29, 2020) – A pregnant woman lost her child in an accident with a drugged driver in the Fresno area on Wednesday. Just after 2 p.m., on August 26, the Fresno Police Department responded to the scene of a crash on Belmont Avenue.
Reports provided by authorities show that a driver who was impaired by methamphetamine ran a red light on Belmont Avenue at the intersection with Olive. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a car. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to go off the road and end up in the front yard of a nearby home.
The female driver of the second car was pinned inside her vehicle and had to be removed by firefighters. The woman, who was six months pregnant, was rushed to an area hospital in critical hospital. Her unborn child did not survive the accident.
The driver of the first vehicle was arrested at the scene. At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
