Fresno, CA (October 19, 2020) – An accident reported in Fresno claimed one man’s life on Sunday morning. Just after 2:40 a.m., on October 18, the Fresno Police Department responded to the site of a crash on California Highway 99.

Reports from authorities show that a 47-year-old man was traveling across the road in a designated crossing area while in a wheelchair, at the top of a highway off-ramp on California Highway 99 when he was struck by a gray Subaru sedan.

The victim sustained severe injuries in the accident. Emergency crews, police, and firefighters in the Fresno area responded to the site of the crash and immediately secured the area. The victim was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Authorities confirmed that the man passed away shortly after arriving.

No other injuries were reported in this accident. At this time, the police in Fresno are investigating the accident.
