Porterville, CA – Teen Struck & Killed by Vehicle on Olive Ave
Porterville, CA (October 21, 2020) – A teen has lost his life as a result of a bicycle accident reported in Porterville on Friday. At approximately 10:40 p.m., on October 16, the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an accident on Olive Avenue.
According to reports provided by local news sources, a 15-year-old boy was riding a bicycle westbound near the intersection of Olive Avenue and North Newcomb Street when he was struck by a vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle initially fled the scene of the accident. Authorities later arrested 23-year-old H Torres in connection to the incident.
The teen was rendered aid at the scene of the accident and rushed to Sierra View District Hospital. Authorities confirmed that the bicyclist died from his injuries during treatment.
At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are underway.
