Fresno, CA – Female Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Academy Ave
Fresno, CA (December 8, 2020) – An automobile accident in the Fresno area on Monday claimed the life of one woman in the Fresno area. At around 11:15 p.m., on December 7, emergency crews were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Academy Avenue.
Reports provided by the California Highway Patrol show that a 73-year-old woman was riding a bicycle along the right shoulder of northbound Academy Avenue when she was struck by a Toyota Sequoia pickup truck near Sierra Avenue.
The woman was ejected from her bicycle, suffering severe injuries. The woman was airlifted from the scene of the accident to Community Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
