Fresno, CA – Juan Ramirez & Noe Maravilla Die in Car & Train Accident at Maple & Central Ave
Fresno, CA (March 20, 2021) – A fatal traffic accident occurred between an Amtrak train and a passenger vehicle on the evening of Monday, March 15. Juan Ramirez, 21, and another unidentified male were killed when the vehicle they were in collided with a train.
According to reports concerning the crash, it occurred on Central Avenue in Fowler near Maple Avenue and Highway 99. The time of day was about 10:30 p.m.
Ramirez was riding in a vehicle that, according to officials, attempted to drive through the crossing arms of the train tracks while they were down. The driver of that vehicle, identified as Noe Maravilla, 27, also lost his life in the collision.
The area where the accident occurred was blocked off to local drivers for several hours on the night of March 15 in order to allow responders to clear the scene. Delays in traffic were observed for several hours.
