Fresno, CA – UPDATE: Sydney Barron Killed in Pedestrian Accident at Shields & West Aves
Fresno, CA (April 13, 2021) – The pedestrian who was struck by a car and killed on April 4 has been identified as 28-year-old Sydney Barron.
Around 8:20 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officers responded to the area of Shields Avenue and West Avenue after being notified of a car striking a pedestrian in the parking lot of the 99 Cent Only store. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Barron lying in the parking lot with critical injuries. She was trapped under the vehicle that struck her.
Firefighters had to pull her from the vehicle to rescue her, and she was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details about the driver involved have not been released.
