Fatal Accidents in California
California is one of the most heavily populated states in the nation. With its year-round nice weather and abundant entertainment, the Golden State is a popular destination for vacationers and tourists as well. Sadly, more people usually means more accidents. On average, California sees almost 500,000 car accidents per year. This is a higher annual accident rate than any other US state. More than 250,000 sustain injuries and over 3,500 lose their lives in these collisions. Daily, over 400 people are hurt in car accidents in California.
Based on the kind of car accident, the odds of critical and life-threatening injuries may be higher for certain people. There are many instances where car accident victims receive traumatic brain injuries, injuries to their spinal cord, broken and fractured bones, as well as additional injuries that leave them to deal with emotional trauma and overwhelming physical pain. Even though a majority of motor vehicle collisions end with only minor injuries to the people involved, additional tens of thousands of victims will necessitate hospitalization, surgeries, and emergency medical treatment for their injuries.
