Bakersfield, CA – One Critically Injured in Tractor-Trailer Crash on Hwy 58
Bakersfield, CA (July 22, 2021) – On the evening of Thursday, July 22nd, one driver sustained life-threatening injuries during an accident involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 58 in Bakersfield.
The accident took place at about 5:50 p.m. along Highway 58, in the area of Chester Avenue. Police and first responders were both dispatched to the scene.
According to troopers from the California Highway Patrol, a white Nissan became pinned underneath of a yellow tractor-trailer that struck it from behind. Emergency rescue crews used a crane to hoist the truck and extract the driver out from under it.
The driver of the Nissan sustained severe injuries and was transported by paramedics to a local trauma center for emergency medical treatment.
