Galt, CA – Debra Arnette Jackson Dies in Accident on Hwy 99 near Mingo Rd
Galt, CA (July 19, 2021) – A 65-year-old woman lost her life in a motor vehicle accident in Galt on Sunday, July 18. The accident involved a suspected drunk driver, according to reports.
The incident occurred on Highway 99 just north of Galt, according to officials. Information from reports states that a 25-year-old man named Estevan Mora was traveling in a Ford Mustang north on Highway 99 when he crashed into the center median near Mingo Road.
Consequently, plastic and metal debris were dispersed across the northbound lanes of the road. Minutes later, a 63-year-old woman traveling north on the highway in a Toyota Corolla hit some of the debris. She then pulled her vehicle over to the highway’s shoulder.
Shortly after, another woman, 65-year-old Debra Arnette Jackson, also struck debris in the highway and pulled her Chevy Malibu over to the shoulder just behind the Corolla. According to information from the California Highway Patrol, both women exited their vehicles and spoke about the accident.
Jackson then walked back to her vehicle. While she was doing so, she was struck by a 43-year old man who attempted to swerve around the debris.
Jackson was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical professionals.
