California Pedestrian Accidents
Pedestrian accidents throughout the state of California send thousands of victims to area hospitals with injuries each year. People who choose to walk instead of ride in cars, trucks, or buses are particularly vulnerable when involved in traffic collisions. As a result, many pedestrians sustain traumatic head injuries, spinal cord injuries, broken bones, and internal organ damages after being injured in a traffic-related incident.
Many injured pedestrians require hospitalization and have to spend months going back and forth to treatment, therapy, and rehabilitation. Although we want to believe that everyone is able to fully recover from their injuries, this does not always happen. Sadly, numerous victims are left permanently disabled or even lose their lives.
Although there are several treatment options available for victims, they come at an extraordinary cost. There are many instances where traffic accidents are caused by the actions of other motorists. These accidents can include people texting or using cellphones while driving, drunk driving, speeding, ignoring traffic control devices, and engaging in unsafe driving behaviors.
