Fresno, CA – Woman Killed, 4 Injured in Car Accident on W Jensen Ave near S Sycamore Ave
Fresno, CA (October 11, 2021) – One woman has lost her life and four others sustained injuries in an auto accident that was reported at an intersection in Fresno. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, October 9 for reasons still being investigated by police.
At approximately 4:30 p.m, two vehicles, identified as a Toyota and a Jeep, collided near the intersection of West Jensen Avenue and South Sycamore Avenue. The Toyota was headed west on Jensen when it suddenly turned in front of a Jeep headed east on Jensen.
The two collided, taking the life of the Toyota’s driver, only identified as a woman. Four people present inside the Jeep at the tine of the collision sustained serious injuries.
Paramedics were observed assisting injured parties at the scene. The four injured victims were transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment as needed.
California Highway Patrol officers investigated at the scene for an extended period of time. Local drivers were asked to avoid the area while emergency crews were present, causing traffic delays.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
