Madera, CA – One Dead, One Injured in Head-On Car Accident on Ave Seven
Madera, CA (September 30, 2021) – One man died and another sustained significant injuries during a head-on collision on Thursday, September 30th near Fresno.
The accident took place at about 5:15 a.m. on Avenue Seven, in the area of Highway 99 in Madera.
Reports show the crash involved a white Honda Civic and a silver Chevy pick-up truck.
According to police, the driver of the pick-up was heading westbound along Avenue Seven when, for reasons still under investigation, they crossed over the centerline and collided head-first with an oncoming Honda Civic.
The driver of the Chevy died at the scene. The driver of the Honda Civic was med flighted to an area hospital in critical condition.
A dog rescued from the back of the pick-up was unharmed during the accident.
Drugs and alcohol are not factors in this collision, which is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
