Fresno, CA – Woman Killed in Crash Involving Mail Thieves
FRESNO, Calif (December 7, 2021) – A 64-year-old woman has died after being involved in a crash with suspected mail thieves.
The California Highway Patrol said that the collision occurred at 1pm on Monday December 6th when the car and an SUV collided head-on near Manning and Elm avenues in Fresno County. The driver of the car, who was not identified, had major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Breteny Grosvener is facing charges of felony vehicular manslaughter after Investigators say she ran a stop sign and slammed into the driver side of this woman’s car in an intersection.
Officials say the driver of the SUV, Breteny Grosvener along with passengers Chris Diaz and Jason Wheeler were fleeing the scene from a mailbox they had just stolen mail from prior to the crash. The deputies arrested Wheeler at the scene for interfering in their investigation.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
