Modesto, CA – Three-Vehicle Accident Kills 1, Injures 4 on Patterson Road
Modesto, CA (December 25, 2021) – A three-vehicle accident on Patterson Road in Modesto left one woman dead and four others injured, including three children. The crash happened at around 9:43 a.m. Tuesday, December 21.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a woman was driving a white Ford SUV when she struck a green Chevrolet SUV on Patterson Road. The Chevrolet was driven by a man and occupied by three young children.
Police say the Ford was speeding at the time of the collision and attempted to turn left when she side-swiped the left rear-end of the Chevrolet. The impact forced the Ford to rotate clockwise and turn over onto its left side. It then landed in the eastbound lane.
The Chevrolet’s front-end struck the right side of the Ford as it overturned. The driver of the Chevrolet suffered serious internal injuries and was transported to Doctors Medical Center for emergency care. Another person was seriously injured, as well as three children, aged 3, 2, and 6 months.
The children were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The area was closed by police and traffic was diverted to Coffee Road. Police in Modesto continue to investigate the details of the incident.
