Atwater, CA – Two separate collisions between vehicles and pedestrians occurred in Atwater, killing one woman and injuring another
Atwater, CA (January 19, 2022) – Atwater police are investigating two separate pedestrian accidents involving vehicles that left a woman dead and a juvenile injured.
The first accident occurred at 3:00 p.m. near East Juniper Avenue and Buhach Road. When officers arrived, they discovered a juvenile who had been struck by a black Honda heading northbound on Buhach Road. The juvenile suffered moderate injuries and is in a stable condition in the hospital.
As a result of the pedestrian’s age, police are not releasing any more information on the collision.
The second collision occurred at 6:48 p.m. at Winton Way and Fay Drive. When officers arrived, they discovered a woman lying in the roadway injured. They attempted to save her life, but were unsuccessful. She died at the scene. The woman was struck by two vehicles. One of the drivers stayed on the scene, while the driver of the Ford pickup drove away and is considered to be outstanding.
