Santa Clarita, CA – ‘Major injuries’ reported in freeway crash north of Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA, California (January 2, 2021) – At approximately 5:15 a.m. a traffic collision was reported on the northbound 5 Freeway near Lake Hughes Road in Castaic, said Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol, Newhall Area Office.
Greengard said the accident involved two vehicles.
The Jeep Compass rear-ended a big rig, according to Greengard. The Jeep driver was hospitalized after sustaining serious injuries.
It took approximately an hour to clear the wreckage from the slow lane following the accident.
