Tulare, CA – ‘DUI driver’ hits girlfriend with truck in Tulare, police say
TULARE, CA (January 05, 2022) –Wednesday night in Tulare, a man allegedly ran over his girlfriend with a truck while under the influence and resisted arrest before officers tased him.
Around 4:50 p.m., officers were called to Bardsley Avenue and Irwin Street for a possible pedestrian versus vehicle accident. Upon arriving, they found a woman who was hit by a car.
Upon further investigation, Douglas Jeremiah Miller, 36, was found to have been involved in a disturbance with his girlfriend. While Miller tried to leave, his girlfriend tried to get into the truck on the passenger side before it stopped moving, which resulted in him running her over. Miller resisted arrest after officers found that he had been drinking, resulting in officers tasering him.
Miller’s girlfriend is expected to survive after being taken to the hospital. Additionally, Miller was taken to a hospital and will be arrested once he is released.
A felony DUI and misdemeanor resisting arrest will be filed against Miller.
