Fresno, CA – A Fresno motorcycle crash is suspected to have been the result of road rage
Fresno, CA (February 04, 2022) – A fiery crash killed a motorcyclist in Fresno. The accident occurred on Blackstone and Griffith avenues, and officials are now investigating if it was caused by road rage.
Officials say a driver pulled a gun on a motorcyclist as the car was driving down Blackstone, causing both to crash.
The owner of Wheelmaxx Auto Shop was inside the shop with several customers when a loud boom was heard on Blackstone Avenue. As I listened, there was a huge crash sound. I looked to the left, and there was the motorcycle,” store owner Mohammad Almghrabi said. Almghrabi said he opened the door to see the motorcycle ablaze and rushed to help. “They stop the car here, and we can’t let anyone leave the area or come into the shop,” Almghrabi said. “They stop the car here, and they start running out of it to see what’s happening.”
The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Monday when a black car chased the motorcycle. Moments before the crash, witnesses report the driver pulled a gun.
“The fire was quickly put out. The vehicle did not appear to be caught on fire, but it did become disabled after the collision,” Fresno police officer Felipe Uribe said. An ambulance rushed the motorcyclist to the hospital, but he later died from his injuries. Currently, investigators are trying to determine if the crash was intentional or if the drivers knew each other.
