Pedestrian Deaths in California

Around 6,000 pedestrians lose their lives annually in accidents involving motor vehicles throughout the United States. About 15% of fatal pedestrian accidents happen right here in California. In spite of the fact that our legislators work diligently to protect pedestrians while sharing roads with drivers, they continue to be victimized daily.

In many cases, pedestrians are struck by vehicles driven by intoxicated, inattentive, and hurried drivers. You can make every effort to be vigilant about the safety of those with whom you share the roadway, however, there is no promise that others are going to show you the same respect.

Any vehicle collision has the capacity to inflict catastrophic injuries on those involved. Pedestrian accidents put victims at a higher risk of suffering injuries given the fact that they are unprotected against the force of vehicles.
