HESPERIA, CA– After a semi-truck crash on 15 Freeway early Saturday morning, two people were airlifted to a hospital. The crash occurred around 1:46 a.m., near the Main Street overpass. According to reports, a tractor-trailer combination traveling at an unknown speed collided with the semi, trapping two people.
Firefighters from San Bernardino County arrived on the scene and reported two critically injured patients. One of the injured was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center by Mercy 66. Mercy 22 also airlifted the other victim to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. There were no injuries to the driver of the other semi, according to the medical crew. Approximately 30 gallons of diesel and oil were found in the roadway by Caltrans. The spill was stopped before it reached the shoulder.
Victorville CHP is investigating the official cause of the semi-truck crash on 15 Freeway at this time.
