Tulare, CA – CHP: Tulare County man killed after truck crash
TULARE, CA – The California Highway Patrol reports a man was killed after his truck crashed in Tulare County on Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to the area of Borchardt Drive and Avenue 54 at around 9:20 p.m. to investigate a car crash. They found an ejected driver in a nearby orchard after the driver was thrown from his truck. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
During an investigation, officers learned the truck had been driving down Borchardt when it veered onto the gravel shoulder of the road for unknown reasons.
The driver attempted to correct his steering, but the truck spun out of control and entered an orchard. According to police, the truck overturned several times in the orchard, ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt.
Officers say they are uncertain whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
