Madera County, CA – Man runs in front of semi-truck and is struck and killed
MADERA COUNTY, CA – According to California Highway Patrol officers, a man was hit and killed after running in front of a semi-truck early Wednesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol reports they responded to the area of highway 99 and avenue 18 for a report of a person trying to be hit by passing cars around 2:30 a.m. The call came in multiple times, including one at Avenue 21 1/2 and another south of Highway 152.
For some unknown reason, the man ran across the lanes of Highway 99, directly in front of a semi-truck. CHP reports that the driver of the big rig did not have time to react and struck the man with the front of his truck, killing him.
Investigations are ongoing in this crash.
