Fresno, CA – The CHP reports that a man was fatally struck by a car in northwest Fresno
FRESNO, CA – California Highway Patrol reports that a pedestrian was fatally struck by a passing car early Saturday morning in northwest Fresno. Around 1:15 a.m., officers received a call about a collision. Upon arrival, they found a 30-year-old man in critical condition. When a man in the crosswalk walked into the lane she was driving in on Shaw Avenue at Maroa Avenue, authorities say a woman was driving east on Shaw Avenue. He was struck at that moment.
An ambulance transported him to the hospital, where he later passed away. As a result, CHP agents are waiting for a toxicology report to determine whether the man’s actions were influenced by drugs or alcohol.
According to police, the driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.
