Irvine, CA – A big rig and multiple vehicles collided on the 5 Freeway in Irvine, killing one person
IRVINE, CA – An overturned semi-truck involved in a multi-vehicle crash on the 5 Freeway in Irvine killed a man Saturday morning.
California Highway Patrol reported that all southbound lanes of the freeway were closed shortly after 4 a.m. near Jamboree Road.
The man, identified as 59-year-old Daniel Franco of Lake Forest, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding firefighters-paramedics.
Firefighters use electrical saws to cut open the overturned tractor-trailer’s roof, ventilating the fire and allowing them to get close to the flames, according to news footage from the scene.
