Laton, CA – A Laton man was killed after flipping his Corvette in a solo crash
LATON, CA – An early Sunday morning incident involving a high-end sports car claimed the life of a suspected drunk driver. Around 3:20 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol, a single-vehicle collision was reported near Mt. Whitney and Fatima Avenues.
They claim that when they got there, they discovered the 22-year-old driver, a man from Laton, dead from wounds sustained when his Chevrolet Corvette veered off the road and came to rest on its roof. The driver allegedly failed to navigate the curve at Latonia Avenue while driving eastbound on Mt. Whitney Avenue at a fast rate of speed on the slick road, according to the CHP. Officers claim that because of how quickly he was driving, his car left the road, struck a parked car, crashed through several residential fences, and then overturned.
According to investigators, the motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
