Modesto, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Paradise Rd & Beverly Dr/Wade & Harris Avenues
Modesto, CA (December 15, 2021) – A pedestrian lost their life on Tuesday evening, December 14 in a traffic collision in west Modesto. Police said that the accident occurred at around 5:45 p.m. at a 5-way intersection.
The intersection of Paradise Road, Beverly Drive, and Wade and Harris Avenues was closed while authorities worked at the scene on Tuesday evening. The wreck reportedly took place when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle for reasons still being investigated.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the crash and required transportation from the scene to an area hospital by ambulance. Sadly, the victim succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital. Their identity has not been reported at this time.
The driver who hit the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with police, officials said. Officials also reported that fatal collisions in Modesto have been happening at an extremely high rate. He stated that drivers are able to help reduce the number of fatal accidents by making sure to watch out for pedestrians and reducing their speed.
