Pedestrian Accidents in Stockton
California pedestrian accidents send many victims to hospitals with serious or life-altering injuries each year. People traveling on foot or on bicycles are at a higher risk of serious injury or death in the event of an accident. This is mostly due to the impact of larger, faster-moving vehicles weighing several thousands of pounds.
Consequently, when crashes occur, a large percentage of pedestrians sustain traumatic injuries, including spinal cord injuries, head injuries, broken bones, and damages to internal organs. Many pedestrians who sustain injuries need hospitalization and often are required to spend months in treatment, including physical/emotional therapy, and rehabilitation.
Unfortunately, not everyone is able to successfully recover from their injuries. In fact, numerous victims are left permanently disabled due to being injured in California pedestrian crashes.
Treatment options available to victims are unfortunately extremely expensive. Oftentimes, vehicle collisions happen due to the negligent actions of other motorists. These collisions can occur due to drivers choosing to text and drive, talk on the phone, ignore traffic signals, and engage in overall unsafe driving behaviors. When victims are harmed in accidents as a result of another driver’s negligence, it is crucial that they work with a pedestrian accident attorney in California to protect their legal rights. Seeking legal guidance from a qualified team of attorneys can help to ensure you are able to move forward in the aftermath of their accidents in the best position possible to recover.
