Bakersfield, CA – Fatal Two-Car Crash on Hwy 99 near Hwy 58 on-ramp
Bakersfield, CA (August 9, 2021) – A man from Alhambra, aged 58, lost his life in a two-vehicle crash in Bakersfield on Thursday, August 5. The incident was reported to officials in the area at around 9:30 p.m.
Sources indicate that the incident occurred on Highway 99 near the on-ramp for Highway 58. Preliminary reports indicate that a 2005 Ford sedan rear-ended a 2012 Ford two-axle truck which caused a crash between the two vehicles.
The incident was reported to have taken place due to slow traffic flow and the unsafe travel speed of the 2005 Ford. Firefighters had to extricate the driver, though he lost his life a few moments later.
Medics then rendered aid to the driver of the 2012 Ford who sustained minor injuries in the crash. Currently, the identities of those involved have not been released.
