Byron, CA – Jesus Virgen Medina Killed in Fatal Head-On Collision on Brentwood Blvd near Highway 4, Injuries Reported
Byron, CA (October 27, 2021) – A man identified as 39-year-old Jesus Virgen Medina, a Pittsburg resident, lost his life on Tuesday afternoon, October 26, in a head-on crash that blocked a busy roadway in East Contra Costa County, according to police. The incident was reported just before 3:30 p.m.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the collision located near Highway 4 and Sellers Avenue. The crash involved three vehicles and took place about a mile north of Sellers Avenue in the 11400 block of Brentwood Boulevard.
One man was pronounced deceased on-site, while another was said to have sustained minor injuries in the accident. Members of the Contra Costa Fire District, Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, and East Contra Costa Fire District firefighters were all observed at the scene.
Brentwood Boulevard was closed for several hours while crews worked to secure the area. Authorities in Byron continue to investigate the details of the collision.
