Bakersfield, CA – 19-Year-Old, 10-Year-Old Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Panama Lane near Hammond Way
Bakersfield, CA (December 10, 2021) – On Thursday afternoon, December 9, a four-time DUI offender struck and killed two people on a roadway in Bakersfield. First responders promptly responded to the scene located in the 1400 block of Panama Lane.
According to reports, Lisa Core, 46, was driving under the influence of a controlled substance along Panama Lane when she drove onto the sidewalk and struck the two individuals. The victims were identified as a 19-year-old male and his 10-year-old sister.
The young man and girl were standing on the corner of Panama Lane and Hammond Way at approximately 1:16 p.m. when the collision occurred. After striking the pedestrians, Core’s vehicle struck a tree. She sustained mild to moderate injuries.
The two young pedestrians were pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. The 19-year-old was reportedly walking his sister home from school at the time.
Lisa Core has been charged with two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, two counts of murder, driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license due to DUI conviction, driving under the influence of drugs, and is a 4th time DUI offender.
