Visalia, CA – Suspected DUI, 16 Year Old Crashes And Kills One Seriously Injures Another
VISALIA, Calif (December 13, 2021) – VISALIA, Calif. – A 16-year-old driver suspected of driving under the influence has been arrested following a crash that killed an 18-year-old man and left a 17-year-old passenger seriously injured, according to California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday night on Highway 137 west of Road 68 in the Tulare county. The accident happened on Highway 137 near Road 68, where a 16-year-old boy was driving a Toyota Camry with a 17-year-old passenger in the right hand seat and a man, 18, in the right rear seat.
According to officials, the Camry went off of the roadway and ran into trees north of Highway 137. A passenger in the rear died as well. The driver sustained minor injuries, the right front passenger sustained major injuries, and the right front passenger sustained major injuries.
CHP officers reported that the 16-year-old was arrested and booked at the Tulare County Juvenile Detention facility.
