Apple Valley, CA – Two Teens Killed in Rollover Accident on I-15 at Wild Wash Rd
Apple Valley, CA (January 23, 2022) – Two 17-year-olds from Victorville were killed during a single-vehicle rollover on Friday, January 21st in the northbound lanes of Interstate 15.
The crash occurred at about 8:25 p.m. neat Wild Wash Road in Apple Valley when a BMW left the right hand side of the roadway due to a tire coming off of the vehicle. When the BMW overturned, one passenger was ejected and another was pinned inside.
According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, the driver, a 17-year-old boy from Victorville, died at the scene.
A Mercy Air helicopter landed on the I-15 to airlift the critically injured passenger. The request was canceled, however, and the teen was taken by ambulance to Victor Valley Global Medical Center where he also passed away.
The third occupant of the vehicle was unharmed during the accident and refused medical transportation.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time.
Fatal Car Accidents in California
Being badly injured in an automobile crash can have a lasting impact on the lives of the victims as well as those who depend on them. Over 270,000 automobile accidents take place in our state every year. While we want everyone involved in an accident to walk away unharmed, this is not usually the case.
Vehicle crashes in the state of California rob more than 3,200 people of their lives each year and most of them are down to driver inattention. Statistics show that reckless driving, speeding, negligence, drunk driving, and other careless actions while operating vehicles account for 80% of car accidents every year.
Losing a family member is challenging under any circumstances. That the accident that killed them could have been avoided makes the situation even harder to bear. Not only are families made to endure mental and emotional suffering, but they are often required to pay tens of thousands of dollars for medical treatments, property damages, funeral services, and more.
