Merced, CA – Police arrest woman for DUI after she crashes into multiple cars in Merced
Merced, CA (January 23, 2022) – Police in Merced say they arrested a woman Thursday after she hit multiple cars and may have been under the influence of alcohol.
Police say Lori Gallo, 47, was driving south on G Street at 125 mph and attempted to pass another vehicle that was also travelling south on G Street. Police say Gallo got too close and side-swiped the other vehicle, causing her car to also hit another car that was stopped at a nearby intersection.
Police say Gallo’s car and another went off the roadway and into a ditch after the crash.
The fourth vehicle also hit some of the debris on the road during that period, causing it to be damaged.
Two people were treated at the hospital for injuries, but their condition is unknown.
Gallos’ blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit, according to police.
DUI and collision causing injury were the charges against her.
