Madera County, CA – After crashing with a fire truck in Madera County, a man was arrested for DUI
Madera County, CA (January 29, 2022) – Several firefighters were injured after a 57-year-old man crashed into a fire truck Monday night in Madera County, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
A crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. along Road 36 and Avenue 13. Officers with the CHP said Daniel P. Higgins, 57, failed to stop before the intersection with Road 36. A stop sign controls eastbound and westbound traffic on Avenue 13.
As Higgins entered the intersection, he collided with a 2016 Spartan Fire Truck traveling southbound on Road 36. Higgins sustained major injuries in the crash, was airlifted to a local hospital and arrested for suspected DUI.
Both firefighters were transported by ambulance to a local hospital, and their conditions are unknown.
