Visalia, CA – Police say a person was hit by a suspected DUI driver in Visalia
VISALIA, CA – One person is in jail, and another is hospitalized after a possible DUI-related crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian Friday night in Visalia.
At around 7:00 p.m officers received a report of a crash a block away from Mineral King Avenue and Mooney Boulevard. According to authorities, a person standing on the corner was struck by a vehicle, and then the vehicle ran into a tree.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital in the area and is in a stable condition, police said.
Officers report that they believe the driver, Eloy Madrid, was under the influence of alcohol. Authorities say Madrid was booked at the Tulare County Pretrial Facility on felony DUI charges.
