COVINA, CA – Early Sunday morning, six people, including children, were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Covina. The incident occurred around 1:30 in the morning near Cypress Street and Barranca Avenue.
Six people were taken to the hospital by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, four of whom were in critical condition. The age of the children wasn’t immediately released, but a video obtained by Eyewitness News showed a boy getting treated at the scene.
Witnesses report seeing a total of three children at the scene. She said that after hearing a loud bang, she ran through the park, and her son tried to open the window to get the kids out of the car because it was smoking.” I sat with the boy the entire time they got the boy out. It was a very bad accident.”
The cause of the crash is unclear. It is currently under investigation.
