Monterey, CA – A crash in Monterey County killed four Central Valley women
MONTEREY, CA – According to the California Highway Patrol, four women from the Central Valley were killed in a head-on crash in Monterey County on Monday morning.
An officer was called out to the area of Jolon and Mission roads at about 6:20 a.m. for a report of a car crash. The officers arrived to find two cars had collided head-on, causing major injuries to everyone inside the cars.
Mary Lee, 45, was pulled from her car and rushed to a local hospital, where officials say she was pronounced dead. The passengers of Lee’s vehicle, identified as 44-year-old Xiong Lee of Fresno, 52-year-old Malisa Moua of Merced, and 36-year-old Pa Vue of Fresno, were all pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the second vehicle, Thomas Boots, 43, was extricated from his car and flown by helicopter to a hospital for treatment.
According to officials, everyone in the car was wearing a seatbelt. As the investigation into the crash continues, details about what led up to it are unclear.
