Fresno, CA – A fatal crash in Fresno County leaves one dead
FRESNO, CA – The California Highway Patrol reported that a young woman was killed in a deadly collision in Fresno County on Thursday afternoon. They responded to an accident with injuries on San Benito Avenue west of Panoche Road at roughly 3:30 p.m.
According to investigators, a 20-year-old Davis male was southbound on San Benito Avenue driving their car while it was lightly raining. Due to his speed and the slippery roads, he lost control of his vehicle, veered to the right, and crashed into a field of dirt. The 22-year-old woman was ejected from the vehicle and was declared dead by authorities there. The four other passengers, who were between the ages of 20 and 25, allegedly had moderate to serious injuries.
The California Highway Patrol claims that neither drugs nor alcohol were a part in the collision and speculates that the woman who was thrown from the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt. The inquiry is still ongoing.
