Fresno, CA – CHP: Driver killed after colliding with semi-truck
Fresno, CA (January 10, 2022) – California Highway Patrol reports a semi-truck crash in Fresno County on Monday night that killed a man. The crash occurred around 6 p.m. near Temperance and North avenues.
There were reports of a car running a stop sign and colliding with a large truck at the intersection. When the truck flipped over, it spilled lemons, launching the car into a nearby orchard. The driver of the car, who was in his late 20s or early 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated, but officers say the big rig had the right-of-way. As crews work to clean up all of the lemons on the road, the intersection has been closed.
