CLOVIS, CA – According to the Clovis Police Department, a hit-and-run suspect was arrested on Wednesday night after leading officers on a chase that ended at a local hospital. Officers were in the area of Clovis Avenue and 5th Street around 9:40 p.m. when they saw a driver crash his car into gas pumps at a nearby business.
A police chase ensued after the driver of the car refused to stop when officers tried to stop him. The suspect was driving recklessly during the chase and eventually pulled over and tried to run away on foot through the Clovis Community Medical Center parking lot near Herndon and Temperance avenues.
The suspect was arrested for hit-and-run and reckless driving after officers tracked him down. The suspect is also being evaluated to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
